December 1, 2008 - Windows are going in

Most of the windows have been installed and both the wood fireplace and gas fire place are in. Heating & air-conditioning guys were busy working there today. It's so exciting seeing everything coming together. Now I know why my uncle said, "Building a house separates the women from the girls."

Alex's Christmas Tree

What a big boy carrying his own Christmas tree into the house. He was all smiles.

My Mom's B-day & Building update

We celebrated my mom's birthday today with some yummy Thai Food and then I headed out to the building site. Wow! I think there were at least 15 guys working out there at once. The place was hopping. Yippee! Heating & air-conditioning is going in. Roofing is almost complete and windows should start going in tomorrow. We just might have ourselves a house before next Fall.

November 9, 2008 - Kid's Play With Grandma & Grandpa

We have been canning applesauce for 4 days now. Yes, we were crazy to bring home 14 boxes of free apples. So far we've put up 124 quarts. Only 5 more boxes to go. While the canning has been going on the kids have been enjoying the Lego train Oma & Opa gave them.

November 8, 2008 - Progress on the house

It's so exciting to see the views out our windows beginning to take shape. The bathtub for the guestroom has been delivered. We can begin taking reservations shortly.

November 8, 2008 - Geo-thermal system

We have 10 trenches in the backyard that are each 150ft long and 5 feet deep. These are so the pipes for the geo-thermal system can be buried in the ground. Hopefully the trenches were closed up today and it does not look like a war zone in our back yard anymore.

October 31, 2008

The trenches are almost completely dug for the geo-thermal system. The backyard looks like a war zone right now. Hopefully the pipes will be placed early next week and the trenches can be closed up.

Marcus and Alex have so much fun exploring every time they are at the property. Today they each came to me with handfulls of little tree frogs. They had been walking in the trenches and found these little guys in great supply. You should have seen the smiles on their faces.
